After a decade of anticipation, fans of the Pikmin game series can finally lay hands on a new installment. Pikmin 4 has officially been released and is now available for purchase/download. Those familiar with the previous titles of the Pikmin franchise know what to expect from Pikmin 4. Players will take control of a character of their own design and embark on an exploration of the planet where Captain Olimar and the S.S. Dolphin crew have crash-landed.
Can You Move Faster?
At the outset of Pikmin 4, players are able to navigate through any location with relative ease. However, as they progress in the game and the levels grow in size, players will discover that reaching various landmarks in the area requires more time and effort. Although players will eventually be able to ride their trusty companion, the Olimar, unfortunately, it does not accelerate their movement. Fortunately, it is possible to move faster, but it will require time to unlock new abilities and overcome the difficulties.
How to Move Faster
Not long after beginning the story mode of Pikmin 4, players will rescue Russ. Russ is a scientist who is part of the S.S. Dolphin crew. Upon rescuing Russ, players unlock the laboratory. The laboratory is a feature that allows players to use all the resources they have collected to create items and equipment. At the beginning of the game, players can create a limited amount of gear. However, as they progress through the story and collect more treasures, Russ will add new equipment to the list that players can create.
Once players have collected over 6000 units of Sparklium, they will be able to create the "Boots of Swiftness" gear. Wearing these boots will significantly increase the character's movement speed. Additionally, the "Boots of Swiftness" also boost the speed of Olimar's movement when players ride it. Unfortunately, the "Boots of Swiftness" are quite expensive to create, as it requires 120 units of resources to manufacture them.
Are the Rush Boots Worth It?
Although at first glance it may seem that there are more practical options for using resources, "Boots of Swiftness" are worth obtaining. It may take several in-game days to accumulate the necessary amount of resources, but the increase in movement speed they provide is significant. The "Boots of Swiftness" allow players to move faster across the map without making it impossible to control their character. Apart from the "Boots of Swiftness", there are no other ways for players to increase their own speed. Ultra-sharp spray only works on Oachis and Pikmin.
"Pikmin 4" is now available on Nintendo Switch.
