Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 features a wide array of distinctive weapons, each with their own characteristics such as time to kill, recoil, and mobility, among others. Even weapons within the same family can exhibit significant differences when utilizing different types of ammunition. The M13C serves as an example of such a weapon, acting as the high-impact variant of the M13B, delivering more powerful hits.
In comparison to the M13B, the M13C utilizes .300 Blackout rounds that have a slower velocity than the 5.56 NATO, but they are subsonic, preventing enemy detection upon killing them. Additionally, the M13C delivers significantly higher damage than the M13B, albeit with the trade-off of increased recoil. If you aim to unlock this weapon and its mastery camos, it is crucial to create effective builds that leverage the strengths of the M13C to maximize its potential.
How To Unlock The M13C

Interestingly, the M13C does not have a specific unlock challenge tied to it. Players who missed the Shadow Siege event will need to play DMZ (Disputed Military Zone) to obtain this weapon. By successfully extracting from the DMZ with the M13C in your possession, you will be able to use it in both multiplayer and Warzone. If someone in the match already owns the M13C, they can simply drop it for you at the beginning of a DMZ match, allowing you to acquire and use it.
Apart from obtaining it in the DMZ, the M13C can also be unlocked by purchasing a store bundle that includes a blueprint for the weapon. Additionally, pre-ordering Modern Warfare 3 will grant access to a blueprint specifically for the M13C, which can be utilized in both multiplayer and Warzone.
Versatile M13C Build
M13C Build | ||
Laser | VLK LZR 7mw | Tune for sprint to fire and ADS speeds |
Muzzle | Komodo Heavy | Tune for ADS speed and recoil control |
Underbarrel | Commando Foregrip | Tune for ADS speed and aim walking speed |
Rear Grip | D37 Grip | Tune for ADS and sprint to fire speeds |
Stock | TRX-56 Stock | Tune for ADS speed and aim walking speed |
The M13C faces challenges in maintaining consistent accuracy beyond close range. Therefore, this particular build aims to address that issue while still preserving the weapon's excellent mobility. The addition of the VLK LZR 7mw attachment significantly enhances aiming stability and ADS (Aim Down Sight) statistics. Given that the weapon tends to veer left after the initial three shots, the Komodo Heavy muzzle is utilized to minimize horizontal recoil. To further mitigate recoil, the build incorporates the Commando Foregrip, D37 Grip, and TRX-56 Stock, all of which contribute to substantial recoil reduction for the weapon.
Although it may appear excessive to equip multiple recoil attachments on a weapon, the outcome is that the M13C becomes capable of consistently landing shots on the upper torso and head at medium range. However, it is not well-suited for long-range engagements due to its low bullet velocity of 300 m/s, which is a result of firing subsonic ammunition. Therefore, it is recommended to primarily engage in mid-range gunfights when using this weapon to achieve the best results.
Loadout Recommendations
Loadout | |
Secondary | Preference |
Lethal | Throwing Knife |
Tactical | Stim |
Field Upgrade | Preference |
Base Perks | Overkill, Double Time |
Bonus Perk | Fast Hands |
Ultimate Perk | Quick Fix |
For optimal performance with this weapon, it is recommended to adopt an aggressive loadout by equipping perks and equipment that capitalize on the M13C's high strafe speed. Quick Fix is particularly beneficial as it enables swift recovery after engaging in gunfights, greatly enhancing your chances of succeeding in 1v2 and 1v3 scenarios. Fast Hands further boosts the weapon's reload speed and facilitates quicker weapon swapping, which is especially advantageous when utilizing Overkill weapons. Additionally, it is advisable to include a reliable long-range weapon in your loadout to ensure versatility across various engagement distances. With this setup, you can effectively handle a wide range of combat situations.
Longshot M13C Build
M13C Build | ||
Optic | XTEN Angel-40 | Tune for ADS speeds |
Muzzle | Komodo Heavy | Tune for recoil stabilization and control |
Underbarrel | FTAC Ripper 56 | Tune for recoil stabilization and aim idle stability |
Rear Grip | D37 Grip | Tune for recoil steadiness and aim idle stability |
Stock | TRX-56 Stock | Tune for ADS speed |
Due to the M13C's subpar bullet velocity, it is not an ideal choice for Warzone. However, if your objective is to unlock the Platinum mastery camo for most weapons, using a long-range variant of this gun becomes necessary to achieve longshot kills. To facilitate this, it is recommended to equip the XTEN Angel-40 optic, which provides real-time information about the distance between you and your enemies. If your target is located at a distance of 38 meters or more, the kill will be considered a longshot and contribute towards unlocking the Platinum camo for the weapon.
All other attachment and tuning configurations are designed to enhance the M13C's accuracy for long-range engagements. The Komodo Heavy muzzle is utilized to significantly diminish horizontal recoil, ensuring better control over the weapon. The FTAC Ripper 56, D37 Grip, and TRX-56 Stock are employed to greatly reduce overall recoil and improve aiming stability. These adjustments prioritize recoil control, enabling the weapon to achieve sufficient accuracy for landing upper torso shots at distances of 40 meters or more. This allows you to swiftly eliminate enemies and progress towards completing your Platinum longshot challenge. If sacrificing an optic is acceptable, you have the option to replace the XTEN Angel-40 sight with a longer barrel to increase the bullet velocity of the weapon.
Loadout Recommendations
Loadout | |
Secondary | Preference |
Lethal | Semtex |
Tactical | Stim |
Field Upgrade | Tactical Insertion |
Base Perks | Tracker, Double Time |
Bonus Perk | Fast Hands or Cold-Blooded |
Ultimate Perk | Ghost |
For a longshot loadout, it is advisable to include Tactical Insertions to respawn at a distance from enemies, particularly in modes like Ground War and Invasion. Running Ghost along with Cold-Blooded is also recommended to evade enemy killstreaks, especially UAVs. Locate a suitable position that provides a clear view of a high-traffic lane, and proceed to eliminate targets using your weapon from a distance of 38 meters or more to achieve longshot kills. Repeat this process as necessary until you have unlocked the Platinum camo. In 6v6 or 12v12 matches, you have the option to replace Cold-Blooded with Fast Hands for improved performance.
